Default Starting from stock, need performance mod suggestions.

Okay group, due to the upcoming birth of our first child, I will be trading my Chevy Tahoe to my wife for her '02 Bonneville SLE. Not a bad ride by any means but I'd like to hop it up a bit. Obviously with the baby on the way the budget is TIGHT to say the least. I am looking for suggestions on what things to change or modify in what order to spice the car up. I don't want to get too radical but here'* some things I had in mind but need advice on.

K&N FIPK kit
180° Thermostat?
remove MAF screen?
Pulleys?
chip or power programmer?

Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

WOW! I hadn't read those before. They're very informative. Thanks for the links!

Personally I would go for the 180 t-stat, and a gutted airbox first. After that, consider a CAI, as well as doing some exhaust work.

The Boat is right there. The article on airbox/intake mods covers this. We've had mixed results with the screen, so as a general rule of thumb, airbox, leave it in, custom intake, take it out. There are exceptions, though.
