Default Pillar attachment to Headliner

Question on installing my headliner back in the 03 Bonneville.

When installing the two front and two back pillar trim pieces in particular- where they hook in the slot in the headliner, is there suppose to be a plastic or metal piece for the pillars to snap into? Or does the clips from the trim pieces just use those holes as a guide or something?

Hope this makes sense..

I think the tabs on the end of the trims, just go into the slot of the headliner to hold it up....the christmas tree retainers in the back of the trims hold the trims in place....

Thanks, I thought that was the case, but the folks who redid the headliner thought there should be something for those clips to hook to.. I didn't see any sign of them though.

NOTE TO EVERYONE - have you cleaned your sunroof drains yet? You better.. Just normal dirt plugged my front ones (car parks on a forward slope). what a mess.

Also resealed the trunk seals on both sides from the top of the trunk down to the Lower middle.. Door "shields" already done so hopefully I got a leak proof car.
