Default Which ODBII scanner for my laptop

I want to get a scanner for my car but I would prefer the one that plugs into a laptop because the laptop version would have more information I would suspect. Any links or info please?

Thanks

I also have autotap and am very happy with it.

Some have actron scanners..however can't use their laptop and record data to my knowledge.

I too have an autotap and am very happy with it.

I do believe that the newer ($$$) Actron scanner has a computer interface along with it to download data files, but I don't like it nearly as much as the HIGHLY customizable interface (dashboard) in Autotap.

Do the Autotap use USB or is it a serial to usb adaptor? Well then again I guess it would have to be cause the OBDI and OBDII ports are serial?

There is a USB available.

Yeah, I have the USB model and I absolutely love it. Works great (after a bit of tweaking).

One thing you won't get with an autotap is compatibility to anything but OBD2 and newer...
