i think it was an ac delco but i cant be sure. its really weird though. i mean the idle just jumps around up, down , and then itll die. sometimes it will jump up down and stay running though. as long as i am giving it gass it will stay running.

i am thinking that something is causing the rpm'* to drop and something else is compensating like the computer or some other sensor which is why i get burst of acceleration at times. you guys haver anymore suggestions.

My reaction is also "bad catalytic converter". Have it checked, they're normally covered for 8 or 10 years under warranty by the manufacturer. Any exhaust shop or dealer can check it and fix it under the warranty, if indeed it is bad.

thanks for all the replies so far. the injectors theory sounds very feasible. a bad catalytic just doesnt seem right but I guess it wouldnt hurt to check.
