Lifters
Someone said i had a bad lifter because of the noise coming from my engine. The dealer said it was my cat making that noise but i dont know. Anyone have any advice for me
We'll need more information before we can give any type of intellegent answer to your question.
Let'* start of with .. what year and model do you have?
Mileage?
symptoms?

Do you have the ability to take a video of it and host that video on somewhere like photobucket for us to view?
A clicking at 85,000 could be many things. My first reaction would be to believe the dealer..although here with all our members and knowledge, there are almost no lifter failures (except a couple lately that were aftermarket lifters).

Tough to say..a lifter might make sense..however a bad weld on a catalytic converter shield could also display the same symptoms.
At your mileage the catalytic is still under warranty. The dealer will replace it for free. My advice would be to let them do that and see if the noise goes away since the cost will be nothing.

Oh..no..
Sorry..I thought the cat was 120.. I checked and it is 80,000. In that case. You could pick up a much lower cost Magnaflow off Ebay and have it installed locally.
