Default Series II valve lifters..

Interesting article in this month'* HRM about recent cam failures in traditional engines due to the use of cheap offshore flat-tappet lifters and reduction of certain additives in modern engine oils.

Anybody have this problem? come to think of it, do 3800 Series IIs have flat tappet or roller lifters?

I couldn't remember from when i did my car about 18 months ago.

I was a little worried about the 455 in my convertible, but it has Crane lifters and not much over stock valve spring pressures.

thanks to youse guys.
