Series II valve lifters..
Interesting article in this month'* HRM about recent cam failures in traditional engines due to the use of cheap offshore flat-tappet lifters and reduction of certain additives in modern engine oils.
Anybody have this problem? come to think of it, do 3800 Series IIs have flat tappet or roller lifters?

I was a little worried about the 455 in my convertible, but it has Crane lifters and not much over stock valve spring pressures.

Yep the roller lifters go all the way back to the 86-88 Vin 3 3.8 V6 engines..
