every blue moon when I turn my car on it displays the words "Theft deterrent system service" or similar message along those lines I don't know if it has anything to do with me not having a operating Keyless entry remote. Does that mean someone has been tampering with my car or something else?

It may be "service theft system" which likes to appear at various times during cold weather. As you don't have a location listed, I don't know if that would be your cause or not, but is the most common reason.

yea, that'* what it was what role dose the weather have on that? I never heard anyone else mention this before.

I'm not sure why the cold weather brings it out, and not aware of anyone who has done any investigation on it. It'* just accepted as one of those quirks that happens. Do a search on service theft system....you'll find other posts.

the SSEi has been doing the same thing for us as well. It'* definately the cold weather causing the problem on ours. It'* warm now, and it'* gone away.

All winter long for me......dont know why, It just is..... Locked me out once like I was trying to steal it.

I've had the message come up in cold weather as well. It'* false message caused by temperature.

You actually being locked out, I would think, is not related to the cold weather message. You should get that checked out.
