I am considering getting a 2001 or 2002 or 2003 SSEi.

Yes, that does look like an excellent deal, but sometimes you have to be wary of too low of a price. But then again they may be trying to sell the car quickly knowing they're taking some loss.

I plan on going to look at/drive it this Friday or Saturday. In the picture it has 2000/2001 chrome swoopie rims, but the exhaust tips definitely are 02/03. That'* got me thinking it may have been a theft recovery or some sort of repairable. If it'* got a clean carfax I will probably be talking to the bank.

Just for clarification, the 00-01 come with dual heated seats as well. I might be wrong, but also don't think the is any seat difference until you get to the 05 GXP'*.

As for the TC/Heater buttons, I like them in the position for the 00-01, because it leaves me a 'cubby' hole for me cell phone. (Although I like the cup holder arrangment for the newer ones better)

Except for the fact that you get a lower milage car when you get a 03, I really don't think there is that much difference between any of the 00-04. (for example, a 00 with the same miles as a 03 are going to have the same problems (if any), at about the same frequency.) With the exception of the layout of the center console, the part numbers used to build the different years are (99%) the same.

you can change the front blubber mount to a solid motor mount. alot less flex of the engine when under power, less than 1" of flex with a solid mount.

.....Yea,...there ya go!!,....GM takes out the functional and up-scale exit/entry lights in all four doors and replaces them with 'nifty red reflectors' that fit into the same slot in the doors,.....one of GM'* "better idea" cost-cutters after 2000. ,...go figure....
