Default Heated mirrors?

It appears that I have side heated mirrors. How are they controlled?

When you turn on the Rear Defroster it should turn the heated mirrors on.

The rear view mirrors aren't actually heated, per se. They receive warm air from the heater blower through the little hole in the door towards the hinge that has the rubber grommet on it. Look to the side of the dash in the spot it hits when you close the door and you will see where the heat comes through.

Actually John, they are heated via a element that is behind the glass

Yeah I think they have an element in them. The passenger side does not move, so I was trying to force it when the glass came out and I seen the wires attached to it.
