All kidding aside, Amsoil is a better oil than Mobil 1. Plus Amsoil'* Supper Duty Oil Filters are far supperior too! You can get 25,000 miles or one year between Oil Changes with Amsoil Synthetic & 12,500 miles or 6 months between Oil Filter changes. I know from past expierence that the most I could get with Mobil 1 was about 9,000 KM'* or about 7 months between Oil Changes & still had to change the Oil Filter every couple of months too.
Maybe it'* the combined EGRless 3800 & the varied Temperature up here that causes it then, as I've seen quite a few now going through our GM Shop at work too.
Yeah but, do you go from +30 Celius to -15 Celius & SNOW in less than 24 hours? We can!
Plus, there is not a month up here that we haven't got snow in too.
Basically there is TWO seasons up here: Winter & Construction!

K&N Part number 62-2480. $6.55.
I remeber that I actually got ours for the GTP at summitracing.com (I don't know why I thought jegs), but I can't find it there, but another GTP member gave me this link, so that should be the filter. Looks right to me.

$16 US with exchange ($25 Can), duty, brokerage & taxes ($20), and shipping($20)
= $65. Canadian.
OK I'm committed now.
The ZZ Performance block off plate arrived. At least it was only $5....about $10 delivered.
Now, since it is simply a piece of 3/8" thick 1" aluminum flatbar with a tapped hole in it, do I need to seal it with a gasket or sealant. :?:
If I bolt it on dry, won't it leak exhaust :?:
What did you use :?:

Wow...$75 for EGR blockoff. Thats kind of expensive. Well worth the money no doubt, but still expensive. Anyways...I am pretty sure you can just bolt the plate on without any form of sealer or gasket...the EGR didn't have a gasket or sealer on it (I don't think). You would think it would leak, but it doesn't. To be sure, you can buy that gasket maker stuff that you can put on there and then put the plate on...but I don't think its necessary. (Make sure the gasket stuff is high temp if you decide to use it) I was not there when the EGR blockoff plate was installed on the GTP, just when the filter was, but I am pretty sure there is no gasket or ZZP would've sent it with the plate.
Well, I am not up to par on my Farenhiet to Celcius conversions but it has gone from 75 to 25 and snow in about 12 hours before, and I know that is not as much of a difference as 45 degrees celcius, but its pretty friggin bad. I know you weather is more extreme some times, but I don't think how fast the temperature changes makes much of a difference.
