Default 2003 steering noise

I've been reading the posts about the issue with the intermediate steering shaft, do the 2003s have this trouble also? Everyone else with the problem seems to have had it with an '02 or earlier model. My 2003 SE started acting up recently with similar symptoms (clicking noise when turning the wheel during slow speed maneuvers). I'm planning to take it to a dealer as it'* still under warranty, but was curious as to whether or not the issue with the shaft had been addressed by the '03 model year.

You might have a different problem than the intermediate shaft,....I had the one on my wife'* '01 Bonneville SE replaced and I just had the one replaced on my '00 SSEi,.....but the problem wasn't discovered by the steering making a 'clicking' sound.......it was a low-pitched Grinding or Grating noise that you hear, and that you can also definately feel through/when holding onto the steering wheel.

Does it only do it when either turning only left or right? Sounds like a bad CV joint to me.

Guess I'll just have to wait until it gets worse. Took it to a dealer today, and they told me that they couldn't reproduce the symptom I described, and therefore they weren't gonna do anything. They did mention a service bulletin about the intermediate shaft, however. The problem'* pretty intermittent right now, and when it does occur, it isn't too bad, so I'll see what happens.

At least you have logged in their system and should arise again your covered.
It does sound like intermediate shaft though, you could feel the cv joint as well as hear it.
