Thanks for the note, but it wasn't the alternator, It was the idler pulley going bad. I replaced it already, the whining stopped. I can test the alternator with my mulit-meter.. but that wasn't needed. But thanks for the reply..
The issue was the idler pulley..!! Thanks all for the help. This is a great forum.
