I was just told yesterday I need to have the lower intake manifold gasket replaced because I'm leaking antifreeze. I had no problems at all, but we looked under the hood just to check fluids and the antifreeze container was empty. It never drips under the car so I never saw any signs of a leak either. I had the oil changed two weeks ago and it was fine - now this

So for about $500, they'll replace that gasket the valve cover gasket. Anything else they should do while it'* totally apart?

Please comment if you have any suggestions, they're doing the work tomorrow.

Boosted Bville said the dealer said his gasket is leaking so I posted in this thread to mention that it'* listed as a common problem.

Lower intake gaskets, supercharger gasket, and 2 new o-rings are all you will need. About 70.00 in parts. Labor should be about 2 hours and most shops charge 75-85 an hour. All they have to do is take off the supercharger belt, take off the supercharger, and take off the lower intake. The upper coolant elbow could be fragile if the car has some miles on it and it may need to be replaced if broken (7 bucks). Then put the new LIM gaskets on , then the lower intake, then the supercharger gasket and orings and finally the blower and belt. $500 is a bit steep however if they havent worked on it the car before they may not know how easy it is and quoted high.

just hoping that someone will clarify this. I'm about to spend a chunk of money on that gasket replacement and somehow it would make me feel better to know it'* a common problem and that I'm not followed by a dark cloud.

You said .. MAYBE $500 for LIM gaskets. That is what I meant to type there. They are replacing the lower intake manifold gasket and the valve cover gasket while they are in there since it has a slight leak also.

You're right tho, it'* not a dealer and they really don't know how long it will take.

I would love to see the Bonneville'* with mods. Rogue you have 423 HP??!!!
