Exclamation 05 Remote Programming

Hello Everyone,

I have an 05 GXP. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was any back door way to program them. I have read that someone had a working one and took the new one in to get the dealership to do it for free. They quoted me $70 to get one programmed and I think that is REDONKULOUS. So if anyone had any way for me to do this myself I would sure like to know how.

There are many online places that have Key'* and Remotes for cheaper and if I can program them myself I will save a lot of money. The dealer wants $90 for a remote and $30 for a key. Where online they want $30 for a remote and $15 for a key. But all of the online places I have gone to say that you must take it to a dealer to have programmed.

Thanks in advance.

programing the key is easy.

first take your master key and start the car.
let it run for 10 seconds
shut it off and within 10 seconds put the new key in and start the car then the key is programed

the key fob has to be done with a tech 2

even a locksmith probably won't have a Tech II, its a GM thing and costs about $1,000
