I don't believe it'* legal or a good idea to tow a car with a strap, especially not 5 miles. That is just for pulling your self out of a ditch, or something similar. Without the engine running you won't be able to steer or stop.

try unplugging the MAF and see if it starts,i had same issue with mine would start the stall ect......unplugged the sensor and car would start up and run fine, the sensor might be on its way out,i got a used sensor from a auto yard, the guy gave me the whole throttle body with IAC & TPS plus the MAF all for $50,awsome deal if i was to buy all those sensors new it would be like $300,all in all i put in the used MAF and the code went away and now the car has a nice smooth idle.

It was the Mass Airflow Sensor. The sensor that I had replace 2 weeks prior from NAPA. Because the car was stalled 50 miles away from home, I ended up having to have it towed to a service station. They checked codes and there were none. They changed suspect looking vacuum lines between the fuel pressure regulator and sensor. They changed the fuel filter, but problem was still there. Finally, one of the few times it did run for a few seconds, they did the "tap test" on the MAF and it died instantly. $75 tow, $45 parts, $80 labor. I went to NAPA and they did let me swap sensors, but I'd like to see them pony up a little for the other bill. I'm not unreasonable, I'll pay parts and even all the labor, but I think they should foot the tow charge. What do y'all think?

Don't count on that happening. You do know that had you unplugged the MAF it would have started up and you could have drove home.

Yeah, I realized that a day to late. It acted completely different than when the sensor went out 2 weeks prior and like I said, gave no codes whatsoever. Guess I learned another lesson.
