Default wiper parking issue

does anyone have a prob with thier wipers parking on the windshield instead of going all the way down to the cowl?well i did, found the prob thought i would pass on the fix.check the nut on the wiper motor that holds the drive arm on.mine was loose, had a lot of play in the wipers.open the hood, take off the wiper arms.remove the plastic screen just below the windshield and tighten the nut with a 13 mm wrench and bobs your uncle! wipers disappear from site now when turned off!

Thanks! I just posted about a problem with my wipers not going all the way to the home position. I'll check it out.

Hey Musicman, your post inspired me to dig into my wipers which were not parking on the stops the way they should but about 1.5" away. I found the easy way to remove the arms is to lift the arm and hold it up while prying the little tab out to hold the spring tension. Once the tab is out, it holds the spring tension, and the arm just comes right up off the splines. I removed the screen after figuring out that the parking stops slide up to come off of their mounts on the screen. When I got in there, I found the bolt on the motor was tight, but there was some slop in the assembly. I just replaced the screen, the parking stops, and reinstalled the blades one tooth lower on the splines, and voila! now my wipers are down where they belong too. Thanks for your report.
