Too small of a sample. You can't accurately calculate on 2 gallons, as your tank will hold different amounts at full depending on the fill.

If the cluster loses the main unswitched feed (due to battery disconnect or corrosion on the connectors), the trip meter resets, but not the Odometer.

i think he is referring to shutting off the engine, and coasting, if the odometer still counts that. i know it does if its mechanical, but does it if its an electronic?

If it'* electronic, it wouldn't reset, but I don't know about still counting. The electronic SSE/SSEi cluster uses the VSS sensor to count up on the ODO. Someone would have to test this (I might be able to later today), but it would have such a minimal effect on fuel mileage that it wouldn't matter, since you're not burning fuel to coast anyway, and the distance you would coast would be minimal, then you have to burn more fuel to get back up to speed.

i was just wondering if it still counted if it went dead wilre going down the road and no coroshion just need to break out the sodering iron and fix a cold solder joint it only blinks out if it gets warmed up if it is cold out and i run with the window down and no heat it will never blink out but if it is hot out it wil blink out pretty fast and allso if the lights are on it will go out quickly as well
and no i dont coast that is dangerous around here

just wondering like i went 150 miles yesterday with out the dash powerd so i was just trying to figur out if the miles still rack up in the brain wile the rest of the dash has no power

yes and no lol got the milage when i filled up and then when when i filled agin but some of that time the dash was dead so i was just looking at that as a posabul reason
