Sorry, I forgot to mention that I also replaced the water pump, belt, and tensioner proactively.

That'* all well and good, except for the LIM gaskets should be purchased at the dealer. Either that or make sure that the local parts store has the GM aluminum framed ones. I would not go with anything else and I don't know if the genuine new GM gaskets are available anywhere except at a dealer or other GM outlet.

Did you buy aluminum frame LIM gaskets at Checker? Up until now, they have only been available at GM dealers.
