Here is all my FSM says...

1. Trans control lever handle - done

2. Ash tray - done

3. Console trim plate- done

4. Console center trim plate to trans lever bracket bolts- done

5. Console center trim plate to auto trans cable bracket bolts - done

--------------Lift up console center trim plate.

6. Connector

7. Console center trim plate

I have the freakin center console out of the car. It only tells you how to swing it up basiclly, then it tells you how to re-install.

When the have to get the one from the JY in going to just take a hacksaw to the center console.

Nevermind the hacksaw thing, I knew how I worded would confuse some people. (No, Im not calling you dumb) I want to take that one out and put another one in with a longer shift boot glued to it so I couuld always switch back if needed.

I'd just put the new GA boot in there and keep it for good. Unless you figure out how to get it out...but I don't think it'* worth the headache it'* giving you.

Mine is like glued to the piece and its pretty hard to get off. But I wonder if I pull the boot though the bottom if I can slip the new one into the bottom of the old one. May sound confusing but it might work, I'll have to try later.
