Got a 94 Bonneville sse and its all nice and everything, gots leather and everything is nice pine fresh, with the exception of the turn signal, the other day, i was driving and when I went to get to put on the turn signal the entire thing fell off, the stick was just hanging from the wires, now I hear I have to take the column off.. is that true? are there any kind of tips you guys can give me so I can get this thing going again. thanks.

should just pop right back in, unless the housing broke or something else happened. Try that first, or take a peek inside with a flash light and see if you see anything broken

Disable the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system as described in MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING prior to working on or near the steering column.

Remove steering wheel as described in STEERING WHEEL.
Using lock plate compressor tool No. J 23653-C or equivalent, push down shaft lock and remove shaft lock retaining ring.
Remove shaft lock, turn signal cancelling cam assembly, upper bearing spring, upper bearing inner race seat and inner race.
Set turn signal to RIGHT TURN position, then remove multi-function lever and hazard **** assembly, Fig. 16.
Remove signal switch arm retaining screw and switch arm.
Remove turn signal switch attaching screws, then signal switch as follows:
Disconnect turn signal switch connector from bulkhead connector and wire harness strap, Fig. 17.
Disconnect E & C module connector from signal switch harness.
Remove wiring protector, then nut holding ground wire to stud.
Gently pull wire harness through column.
Reverse procedure to install.
Rearm airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.

I don't see "remove the column" but it does seem to require a lot of digging. If you find that it is broken and needs to be replaced, I have a spare column and can take some pics if necessary to help you through the procedure. Send my your email via PM so I can include some more information that might help.

have a similar problem you should be able to re insert the lever, but it may require some rotating of the different pieces to get it ti sit all the way in. Mine is quite broken and if i grab it wrong it will pop out... you'll get the hang of fixing it
