Default Trim Problem

When doing oil change A bumped the trip pc by the driver side behind ther front wheel but ahead of door. The panel is pefect fine. Execpt for the clip that goes into the body.
I got th new clip but the part the clip goes is also missing gm does not sell this part any more. This my idea for fixing is to take the clip drill hole in and put bolt with two nut one at the clip and the found washer and put after the bolt goes into the body then put the do you think this will work

the post broke off with the clip. Yeah.. either a small bolt or some super strong trim adhesive should do the trick for you.
