From your description, you're lucky to have a trans at all. Keep a very sharp eye on it, and consider dropping the pan and filter change again in about 5k.

sometimes that can be the worst thing you can do....all the little particles that are holding the trans together will get dislodged and could possibly lead the trans to an even early death
I coulda sworn I read this same thing on this board many times. It made sense in my head but willwren hasnt steered me wrong yet

I can honestly vouche, i had my trans flushed one month before it went, that day it started to slip really really bad. It cleaned the crap off of the clutches and that was enough to make it slip that much more..but she was done for to begin with.
