Default Tranny Shift Problem

Hi Guys,

When I'm going uphill my transmission won't downshft. The engine races, and I can't get over 70 kph. On the flat, if I give it gas, exceleration is slow, the engine races, and it doesn't seem to shift like it should. :( Any ideas / advice??

Thanks

Welcome to the club, Robert.

I would first encourage you to post your car'* trim line, year, and engine (with mods) in the signature so that we can better help you. These cars came with several different 3800 engines and at least five different transmissions (4T60, 4T60E, 4T60E HD, 4T65E, and 4T65E HD).

If your engine is reving and you are in OD, chances are that your tranny is slipping. But more info would help us help you.
