The factory one isnt sufficent enough for our cars? My 99 SE didnt come from the factory with a tranny cooler :x However I plan on adding one real soon, I think it will be very positive for my car.

only the some SSE's and all the SSEi's have the trans cooler, there was also an option for the 92-93 SE/SLE to get a trans cooler if the car was equipped with the tow package

I have question my car as far I know doesn't have a tow package. But It has tranny cooler that looks oem. I know beacuse one of the lines were leaky when I got it

The only way to get an OEM trans cooler on an SE or SLE was to add it at the factory. I forget what the package was called, but it should be in your RPO's. Heavy duty trans cooling option or something like that.

All SSE's and SSEi's with the 4T60E trans (92-96) should have the OEM cooler. This is in addition to the traditional path through the radiator. I know all Series 1 SSEi's (92-95) also have a 3-core radiator. Trans, Oil, and Coolant, then the auxilary trans cooler as well.

Most of us simply add another aftermarket cooler just in front of the OEM cooler. That's the way mine is.

You will not find a trans cooler on the 4T65E's, and there are differing opinions on whether it's needed on those or not, but I find it strange that the 4T60's with the coolers outlast the 65's without. Including the 96 SSEi's that have the lower rated 4T60E(HD) transaxle.

I love it.... we constantly find ourselves asking "what were they thinking"

On the 65, I assume the plugs are there to add lines for a cooler?

Nope....

Alll 65-E's are set up like the 60-E in an SE bonneville.... The 65-E just uses the stock internal cooler thats inside the passenger side of the radiator...

Question for everyone out there.... are the threaded fittings the same on the lines and radiator between the 60-E and 65-E?
