Ryan,

I can understand you not wanting another bonneville now, not a big deal. BUT, I've gotta recommend against the convertible V6 mustang. It sucks for you for so many reasons:

#1 super slow, and when you drive a mustang EVERYONE wants to race you. Are you really willing to lose multiple races every day?

#2 you can't stuff a pile of people into it to go somewhere. Trust me, there'* nothing better than looking in the rear view mirror and seeing 5 chicks in the back seat of your car, sitting on each other'* laps, woohoo!

#3 They are overpriced for what you get. You'll hate the maintenance on it, especially the convertible, things are going to break all the time, they are not well made. Mustangs are great for cheap performance - but take away the performance, and you're getting a piece of crap!

#4 It'* a cop magnet. If you're really concerned about insurance costs, you should consider this! A cop isn't going to notice that it'* only a V6, because he'* already busted 8 punks that night driving their V8 mustangs like idiots. Want to see your insurance go up? Try explaining to your insurance company that the cop was an idiot for ticketing you for going 47 in a 40. You think they're going to care?

There are so many other cars out there to choose from. I can understand you not wanting to get another Bonny, but shop around, you'll be surprised at what you can pick up.

Maybe I can help ... how much $$ do you have to spend on a car?

I totally understand ..but girls are drooling all over the fact that i'm getting a mustang. Don't get me wrong, they loved the bonne..but they are going nuts over the stang. I would love to buy the SSEi for 1,000 more but i have baseball in the spring so i won't be able to work that much so that extra 1,000 is ki nda scary for my situation. For the most part i am lookin for one fun summer since its the last one before graduation. I still haven't gottent he money for my car yet either so options are open. I did almost buy a v6 cherry red camaro ttops. It'* a toss-up. I'm probably like around the 7500 range max.

The car gets the girls , but the **** keeps them coming !
Forget the stang and the bonnie and go for the GTP
If you have a little putz , the car isn't gonna help !
Think about it , Big putz and nice car (gtp) = all the girls and their friends!

Lemme tell ya somethin, Fords 3.8 is NOT the same as GM'* 3.8 So if u want a 9.5 sec 0-60 sports car then go ahead, but you will miss your luxury and Grunt. For crist sakes its got 145 HP!!!

OK, here'* a few ideas that the chicks will like. Think chicks are excited for a mustang? They'll lose their tops for a BMW!

Seriously, go to www.autotrader.com and look around, do your research. Look around at different types of cars. Don't waste your money and buy the stang on a whim!!! Trust me, when you get into school, you'll want as much cash as you can, even looking around in the $5000 area, you can find some really nice stuff.

Ryan,
My 96 SSEi only cost me $6500(80,000 miles). So there you go a bonne, an SSEi, and you save $1000...oh yeah, and it'* RED! I bought it from a toyota dealer who had it on their lot for three months and just wanted to get rid of it.

I like the BMW idea - at least it'* better than a 6-cyl Mustang. I said it before, and I'll say it again - you want a 'Stang, get yerself a 5.0 (or 4.6, depending on the year) or forget about it. You can't tell me that you can't get a early to mid 90'* 5.0 Mustang convertible for under $7500. Don't jump into the whole car buying thing, regardless of your age. You'll regret it, especially if you go to turn around and sell that V6 pony.

BTW Dan - what the heck do you do in Cazenovia? And what'* with all the Mopar products? My Chryslers were nothing but headaches. I'm done with that phase of my life. (OK, I'm with you on the JGC but after that, fugheddaboudit.)

Exactly!!! Spend $7K for a Bimmer now, in two years you'll sell it for $5K. Spend $7K on a Mustang V6, in two years you'll sell it for $3K.

Cazenovia - I live there I work in Liverpool, by Syracuse.

As for the Chryslers - I've gotten pretty good at working on them, and they're good to play with! They're cheap to buy, and very cheap to make extremely quick!!!

What do you do over in Utica?

I work at Bank of New York in Oriskany, and I also have a p/t job at the bingo hall at Turning Stone Casino, on the weekends.
