Can you give some more details?

When does the display not work? Does the digital display ever not work when your lights are on? Do the display lamps ever flicker?

Default Stereo display

They work when they want to. They will either come on and stay on when you start the car, or don't come on at all. They are off most of the time. They don't flicker, even on the crappy roads here.

Here is how it is supposed to work:

The digital display comes on at full brightness when the car is on and the headlamps are off, but the buttons don't come on until the headlamps are turned on, at which point the digital display dims and becomes variable.

If the digital display does not come on when you turn the car on when the headlamps are off, your problem is a bit more complicated.

If your symptoms exist only when the headlamps are on, it is likely a poor interior lamps connection at the rear of the stereo, and I would test it with an electrical test lamp when you are having the problem.

Here'* me, getting on your case for bringing up old topics with a poster that hasn't been around in ages.

Please start a new topic, however I respect that you used the search to find someone else with the same problem. Just provide a link to this one in your new thread.
