Default Steering Problems

Hello All, I am new to the club but have been driving my 94 SSEi for 10 years now. I need help with a handling issue. Here are the symptoms, when I am driving at a high enough speed and turning left sharp enough; I feel the car hook left sharper than it should. It seems that when enough of weight is shifted to the front right cover of the car, something moves/tilts that shouldn't. When making the same type of right turn everything feels normal, the car doesn't turn more than expected. If I am going slower and turning left, while going over a bumpy patch, I feel and hear a knocking coming from the front right corner of the car. It feels as if something is loose. I had the car checked out by my mechanic and he could not find anything loose. He checked the motor mounts, body mounts, brake assembly etc... and came up with nothing. The car has 160,000 miles on it. When the car had 140,000 miles on it, a little less than 2 years ago, I had the struts changed, front and back and had an alignment. After having that work done and getting the car back I thought I could detect a faint knocking while turning left over a bumpy patch but didn't do anything about it. I am guessing that this problem started then and has worsened over time. Any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated. I love this car and would like to keep her going for as long as I can.

Were the strut mounts changed at the same time as the struts?

I am not sure. I will have to review my receipt tonight when I get home from work.

I don't know what the heck I did with the receipt for that work but I can't find it. I just don't remember. I will keep looking for the paper work and try to see if my mechanic recalls what we did. If it is something that wasn't changed, could it cause the issues I am describing?
