Or could this be my flywheel. Before this problem happended I was hearing some strange noise everytime i started my car. It sounded like, i guess the flywheel was loose or not catching with the starter. if the problem relies with the flywheel, how difficult is it to replace and whats the cost.

Sounds like the starter is spinning but the bendix may not be thrusting the starter wheel forward to engage the flywheel

OR the teeth on the flywheel are gone in that part and the starter is spinning without engaging a tooth there to start spinning the flywheel. The way to test is to use a large socket wrench and turn the crankshaft a little at the balancer end and see if the starter engages the flywheel then.

If that works and starter is okay then you need a new flywheel. Fun.

Yeah, flywheel would be a real pain. Pulling the starter is fairly easy & you might even be able to fix it yourself.

Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Make note of electrical connections at the starter then diconnect all the wires.
Look for any shims between the starter & mounting suface so you'll know where they go. Unbolt & remove starter.

Once the starter is out you'll be able to see part of the flywheel. You'll have to rotate the engine if you want to inspect all the teeth on the flywheel.

If the flywheel looks OK then you'll have to decide if you want to repair or replace the starter.

On the passenger side of the motor. Its what the lowest (bottom) pulley is mounted to. There'* a large nut in the middle of the pulley that you can use to rotate the motor.
