I'm thinking maybe a sign or two if there'* an issue with it. Although by this time..your pump shaft should be showing signs of age and wear.

Hmm, looks like a screen from the valve body. Guess I better go threw the manual and figure out where this came from.

A small amount of build up in the pan.

Found it. Looks like the outlet screen for the oil pump.

Ahh, no, I don't think so. A bit of a size difference. The outlet screens on the valve bodies I have on the shelf look different as well.

Spare parts are never good. That little screen won't cause a motor blowing issue though.

It looks like there might be screens on the soleniods. Take a look at the filter listing on page 4 of 6
http://www.automaticchoice.com/Catalogue/4t65e.pdf

I'm aware that at the ends of the soleniods it looks like there are screens. Then the oil pump and the two conical screens in the VB. None are quite the one you have there. Not sure how a screen could come through the VB and end up in the transmission w/o going through a piston of the various clutch packs.

I know, I'm scratching my head on this. How did it get in there? Was just laying there. Transmission seems to work fine. I've pulled few apart and never saw one like that. I looked in a VB and those are different shape and different color. Looks like a tiny oil pump screen. I didn't see anything in the manual, but I'll keep looking. Today I plan to put the transmission back in the car. Picked up a stock torque converter.

I want to check the end play on my old TC, I have to wonder if it'* out of speck, and if it'* rattling around causing KR.

I dunno about end play on a TC.

On that screen. When you had your trans apart for the fuse, is it possible it dropped in? Also, that link says there are screens on the soleniods that can be replaced from teh looks of the part numbers. I've never seem them apart, but ..it does kinda look like a screen off something like the pcs. Maybe it fell in when you were working in there and had to pull the PCS to get at the bolts under it.
