Say Hi to Mom for me, and tell her I'll bring some good gourmet coffee next time to replace the 44 pounds I devoured while Dad was hospitalized.

That is most definitely an external noise. Not internal to the engine.
Yeah, the sound will go away higher the rpms. Any other death signs?

Money was more of an issue when you bugged me about it. I'll ask CaddyMatt to price one out for me tommarow.

lol, don't worry about the coffee. You didn't even put a dent in what we've consumed the past year

I had no signs whatsoever before my HB went. And when it went, it was LOUD. You could feel the HB to see if the rubber is cracked.

Looking at that vid again, I'll go with my first choice and say the HB.

John, get out there quickly before it gets in the 20'*. We're still in the 30'*.

Pull the RF wheel off. Then the inner fender liner. It should take about 15 minutes.

You know what you're looking for. You changed the HB on the SLE with me, and have seen that one since.

Alrighty, still too much snow/slush on the driveway for me to jack the bonnie up. I might take over the garage. Eather way, I'll get a pic of it here soon.

CaddyMatt ordered a new HB fromthe dealership today. It'll take a coupla days though, it'* coming from Reno aparently

It actually sounds like the optional Geiger Counter that came on a few rare '92 Bonnies

Hope the HB is the issue. Thanks for posting the vid, as I haven't had the opportunity to hear a bad one yet.

That'* not BAD yet, Ben. Trust me. It'* a brutal clatter. Everyone at WCBF05 heard my 95 before we changed it. John and Shadd heard my 93 last year.

That'* STARTING to go bad.

Pics and video'*:

My thoughts:
First, I want to shoot the engineer that decided to put the stupid push/pull plastic tab things in the fenderwell

I'm thinking it'* the tensioner. The sound isn't coming from the HB area And I think how I can pull on the belt and it moves would show that the tensioner is shot again. If it is shot, I don't know why in the hell I'm going through these like crazy Eather way, I will still buy the new HB and install it.

Whatcha guys think?

thanks,
John
