Question Rear Wheel Hub bearing

95 Pontiac Bonneville lacking power at take off...if a rear wheel bearing is bad...Can it cause the car to drag on take off taking longer to shift before red lining?

I would say no.

If the car had a severely dry bearing and sat for a while, I suppose the rusting bearing could impart a great deal of friction the first couple times you drove it... but it would burn out quickly and become obviously bad in no time.

Rusty brake rotors and rusted sticky calipers would slow you down more... but again would wear down/burn up quickly until they were pretty much free spinning.

Jack up the rear end, when you think this is happening and spin the wheels....

3.8, or 3.8 SC'er?

Recently started happening? Lean more towards a cat than bearing....and if you had a bearing problem, it definitely would make noise...
