Default Rattling Noise in Engine Bay? 1993 SSE

I have a 1993 Bonne SSE. All of a sudden I have this rattling noise when the car is in idle and running. It dosent really get louder when driving just speeds up a bit. It sounds as if it is coming from the area where the belt is. Any ideas of what the prob could b? Any test I should do to diagnose the problem to kind of rule things out?

Thanks

Is your car supercharged? If so, the supercharger coupler is your culprit.

Not Supercharged, i would be taking a look at your belt tensioner, watch it when the car is running, its rattling back and fourth? My SSEi is plauged with that from time to time..

Could also be the harmonic balancer. Look at the face of it for cracks in the rubber. It'll make quite a clatter when it gets bad.

Could also be your catalytic convertor. Try shaking it when the car'* not running to see if it rattles.

Can you grab the belt and move it along its path much? An inch?
