Default Power Seats

Hi. Is there any way I can upgrade my 8 way power seats on my 1998 SSE to the other ones that have more positions and use the buttons that are near the transmission shifter?

Your input is appreciated!

It can be done. I was going to do this to my 94 SE, but could never find a decent pair of matching grey near me (shipping can be expensive because these are heavy seats), so I just bought a whole new car instead..lol. Also, the shades of greys and tans are different for different years. Search the tech info section. I think there are several other threads on this site about the swap. Search "seats" or something similar. Also, these seats are popular with the Impala SS crowd as a swap, so the greys get snatched up quick and they can get expensive. Tans seem to be easier to get and are most of the time cheaper. Here is a link to a FYI from an Impala SS swap that has good pics of seats and some info on wiring. http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/6650/bonnyseats.html

I forgot to add that you might try searching www.car-part.com to see if you can locate some near you. Make sure you see the seats or at least pictures before buying (NO switches on the seats and the backs are squared off). Some sellers say that they are the multi-position but really are the ones you already have. Most if not all SSEIs are the multi ones your looking for although they were an option on the SSE.

Good luck. Do you think you are going to do it? My bud at work has a 95 SE. Sat in my seats last week and now also wants to do the swap. I gave him the same info and told him I would help. Finding the right tan seats for 95 in good condition is gong to be the hard part.
