Default Power Seats

All the positions on my power seats work fine except for the up and down positioning of the back rest. I don't think it is a motor problem, could it be the switch for that particular function? Or are there gears inside the seat that my be stripped or worn out? I have this problem with both the driver and passenger seat. The driver seat will work sometimes but the passenger seat does not work at all. But as I stated before, all the other positions work fine.

If it'* gears, you should still hear/feel the motor turning. I would bet on a switch myself, but not sure which wires to check to test this.

Possibly a relay going bad? Can you here the click-click when you hit the button?

The relays for the seats are in a little black box under the drivers seat. You can feel them clicking with your hand.

I know I have a similar problem. I think my recline motor is getting weak on the passenger seat. It tries, but doesn't move too well any more.

I thought I read somewhere that there was only one motor to control all the functions. So you are saying there is more than one motor, how many?. And has anyone ever had one replaced, or did it themselves, and if so how much?

4 motors in each seat to control directional movement. Other functions are controlled by a single air pump.

Probably not the motors themselves, but the screw jacks are in severe need of greasing! I didn't figure this out until mine failed and I had to replace them. Suggest unbolting seats, turn upside down and grease up the screw jacks (two per seat, along the outside movement tracks). The screw jacks actually are what move the seat back.
