Default PLEASE HELP!!!! NO BOOST AFTER WORM UP AND LOUD RATTELING!!!

ok first off thanks for letting me post on this site i just came across your forum and it have been vary helpful but now i need some real help....i have a 93 bonni SSEI and i love this car but i am having some troubles....first i did hear some small marble like sound coming from the supercharger and figured it was the barrings gone bad...so i fix it...i got a rebuilt nose from a real good guy in NJ but i now or i should say i still hear a marble like sound but this is vary loud....it olny happens when i idle...or brake to a stop...it goes away after 2000rpm or 10mph or so...i am almost positive that it is not coming from the SC...it was there befor i worked on the SC.

next i have a boost issue...now wile i was redoing th nose on the SC we found some crappy vacuum hoses so we re did them...well this is what happens...be for the hoes where done i had no boost at all...after, i get boost but it is only for a few min. untill the engine reaches temp or about 200 F. then the service engine soon light comes on and i no longer have boost...then the light continues to blink on and off at about every 50 sec. or so...some times it will come on sooner then 50 sec. and then goes back off. i also want to add that i do also have my ABS and TRAC. lights on wich i do think is a CODE or somthing...

please help oh bonni gods...lol

The traction control and ABS systems rely on the same network of wheel sensors for their information. If the ABS is dead, so is your TC. Might be a wheel sensor, bad connection, etc. Check the fuse, obviously.

Default hummm

i read that be for my post be for and i was not sure if that was the case....so its the dampener making the loud sound?

what about my boost issue? does anybody know anything about that? its as if the computer is stopping the boost from going back on after it reaches temp. or maybe there is a vacuum leak when the temp goes up? IDK...lol

please help with more info...thanks

Morning...

Flashing engine light means there is a possible catalyst damaging condition occurring. Typically this is plugs and wires being bad or a coil heading down the road. How bad does the misfire seem to be?

Boost.. please pull your engine codes via the paperclip trick in TechInfo (top left of every forum page for link). Pretty sure you are going to find a quad driver code. You may have a bad part...let'* get those codes first though. In case the misfire is bad enough to dump all the boost.

Rattling... We need you to get under the hood and determine what is making the noise. There are a few pullies, water pump, alternator, AC and a supercharger that could be making the noise. If it were the balancer, the noise would be bad enough..you might think the motor was shot. it'* possible though. A mechanic'* stethescope is only ~$15 at Sears and awesome to help determine the origin of a noise.

On your "new" nosedrive.. you added a bottle of SC oil in the repair correct?

well i never notice a misfire so i guess its not that bad....the boost works until i reach 200F and then once i see the light come on it doesn't seem to work any more....ill get back to you on the code... and the scope.

and yes we put in all the SC oil.

Default codes

well i used the code trick with a paper clip and the engine light blinked at me 5 times and then 6 times...and repeated that... i looked in a car manual that bought a wile back and this code in not in the book...it goes up to 55 but not 56...(if thats what the blinking means)

as for the sound i still have to check it out but if anybody has some insite on it please let me know....

ps...the ABS/ trac lights are still on...if i find the issue will they shut off right away or do they need to be reset?

PLEASE HELP!

thanks
jason

You should really check out the Techinfo link at the top of every page. I will give this one to you, but the next one is your turn

56 - Quad-Driver " B " Fault
Found it quickly in the Techinfo area. clicked on Techinfo, then Electrical, then Computer, then 1992-93 Vin # 1 supercharged 3800 ECM Codes.

Take some time to look around that area. There is a TON of very good info in there that you will find very usefull.

as for the Quad-Driver Fault.... Boosty takes over from here
