Just for the record:

I got a reply back from Pontiac. Unfortunately they couldn't tell me most of what I asked but they did state (using #'* from my engine block / VIN) that my 95 SSEi does have the Series II engine. I did some more looking around and found the following sites that had a little more information on the engine, its HP, etc...

Those Fiero guys sure love our engines!

It also looks like I have the Eaton M62 supercharger and not the M90 like the newer Series II engines do. Does any one know how difficult it would be to upgrade to a M90 or, better yet, a centrifugal supercharger?

Yeah, and with the 3800, those things are fast! I went a 1/4 mile track in Rock Falls, WI last weekend with one of my buddies (who owns a GTP) and one of his friends (who owns a Fiero with an L67 in it). The Fiero ran a 12.92 @ 104 mph. Here'* the video of the GTP (black) running against the Fiero (red):

Hmmm... I thought that only the N/A 95'* had a Series II motor.... What does it say on the engine shroud?

I like how you think 95SSEi. Yes, there is a centrifugal Grand Prix GTP now and ran a 12.4 with no intercooler. It belongs to ZZPerformance I believe. But they will eventually be realeasing a CSC kit for the GTP'* which you could then slap on your Bonneville SSEi with a little modification. (Engine mounts are in different places).

Although Pontiac, who should know, said I have a Series II, I still have my doubts. Here is the info I sent to them:

Owners Manual states I have a L67 block
VIN code is a "1"
Code behind drive belts: 24502302
Code below */C inlet: GM 11 3800.00

I have compared my engine to my friends 98 GTP. Most of the two are identical except for he has a different supercharger (bigger and longer snout) and his */C pully is the outside of the two belts where as mine is in the inside. I think this is the M62 vs. the M90 superchargers. My */C cover has no reference to either Series I or Series II on it. It just says "3800" and "Supercharged".

If anyone can find solid proof of wich series it is I would oh so greatful. I have yet to see any official print that states the Series # of the 95 SSEi. I have found a 50/50 mix on various sites to as what I have. I am looking to do some mods this summer but I am reluctant to start until I know I am getting the right stuff. :?

Does it say Series II on it?? My '95 NA does....If it dosn't have Series II written on the engine cover, then i would assume it'* Series I...since they didn't really have a reason to put series I on it because there was no need to differenciate...

The L67 was used from 1991 - 2002 & could be either a series I or II. My guess it'* a series I though. Like Tamara says does it say series II on the top cover?

Did I hear aluminum valve covers or upper intake? I can have both made, but the upper intake is the easiest. It can be had from a firebird v6. But this is hear say and I will check for sure with my parts source. If I confirm this is true I will get one and clean it up if you are interested.

'95 SSEi'* are definetely the Series I motor. No question about it. All other '95'* are the Series II, however the SSEi'* retained the Series I motor until 1996 when the bonneville saw a updated body design as well.
