Default oil pressure question

Ok on the 93 SSEi I just had an oil change. The pressure is usually around 40-60psi. Well today after accelerating hard the pressure started rising. It went up to about 80-100psi. After letting back off the gas and driving normal again the pressure went back to normal. I'm using valvoline 10W30 with a supertech filter at the moment. Should I be worried?

Oil pressure rises as RPM rises, so it sounds normal.

Mine pegs the gauge until it warms up completely after an oil change and filter.

I think you're OK.

I'm thinking a 100psi is a bit high.

Although I can't tell you what mine does fully pegged as the road requires my concentration.

Well I just got done switching the car over to full synthetic mobil 1 yesterday and now the oil pressure gauge stays the same even when I accelerate hard. Pressuer stays at 40 and above all the time and never goes above 80. Anybody have any ideas why the old valvoline would peg the gauge and the mobil 1 doesn't. Now I'm wishing i had switched to sythetic oil a long time ago.
