Sure does.... Sounds like a VATS issue, however I'm no authority on it.
I beleive the solid light means that the VATS did not read the proper value from the pellet or remote (whichever was used) and that keeps you from starting it for about 2-3 minutes.

any suggustions on how to clean the inside of the ignition?

I would think they got the right value testing your key. My idea is there is a loose connection somewhere.

well with what you guys had told me about the VATS thing and the security light i was able to explain this to the install guys where i bought my remote start. they checked the resister that they had put it and found it to be really close to the outter tollerance so he found a better match and used that one. so far no problems. thanks!

On the resistor. The values are listed around here somewhere and you can only be about 5% off. If there is a poor connection somewhere else in the wiring of the car, it could have caused you to have been out 6% and having the occasional issues.
