Sure does.... Sounds like a VATS issue, however I'm no authority on it.

I beleive the solid light means that the VATS did not read the proper value from the pellet or remote (whichever was used) and that keeps you from starting it for about 2-3 minutes.

I would think they got the right value testing your key. My idea is there is a loose connection somewhere.

On the resistor. The values are listed around here somewhere and you can only be about 5% off. If there is a poor connection somewhere else in the wiring of the car, it could have caused you to have been out 6% and having the occasional issues.
