Ive got a TSB printout, but I can't find it.

If I recall, the part number didn't actually change. Any new part will be the improved design (93 and up), but be wary of wrecker parts. There'* a sticker or tag on the units that can help determine which is right or wrong.

There are a couple extensive posts around here somewhere under a 3" layer of dust.

I don't know if it changed or not. GMPD won't give a listing for the strainer of a 92, but has the part if searched by part number.

Also, autozone lists a strainer for 92'*. I'm gonna go see what it looks like.

acdelco.com lists this as the strainer for a 92. It looks like the updated part to me.
