As far as the car blowing hot air with the ECC off, I'm gonna guess this is the normal cabin venting. You always have a slight airflow into the cabin whether you have anything on or not.

The fact that the air is coming in hot further suggests that the air temp flapper thingy is stuck...

i tried looking under techinfo and i dont see anything for the air flap thing. i see when deathrat posted the directions for cleaning the evap, but not the flap.

Here'* a an easy question: When you have your A/C running and the compressor is engaged do the lines leading to the accumulator (the round silver can by the firewall) get real cold? If they do then the compressor and a/c system are working and you need to look at the equipment under the dashboard. If the lines don't get cold when the compressor is running it'* either the compressor or the expansion valve.....

If you mean that clunk noise when the thing switch from floor to vetn to defrost? that works. now if there is a seperate thing for the a/c and heat, i need to check that. ohhh, you did say that

Tell me you have a service manual. You need it right now. Between that, and all the info posted here, you shouldn't need anything else. It'* a difficult job, too. Just make sure you THOROUGHLY troubleshoot it first.
