Default Misfire

1996 SE
My check engine light came on and tracting control turned off and wont turn on, so I took it to Auto Zone and they hooked it up and said it was Cyclinder 2 that was misfiring. They said it was prolly sprak plugs and wiring since it has 98k miles on it and i havent replaced it. So I replaced it and sure enough when I got to cylinder 2 it was wet with gasoline. I replaced the plugs and wires and the problem is still not fixed. Any ideas?

Either bad coil, or bad ICS system, i'm venturing the ICS because it'* only one misfire, and not 2 cylinders (normal with a bad coil) But a bad coil can produce 1 cyl misfire.

Move some coils around, and see if the misfire moves. If that doesn't change it, you'll need a new ICS module.

THe ICS is what the coils bolt to.
Swap two coils and compare, if the mis moves with the coils its the coil. If its the same #2 cyl. then the ICS is suspect.

$35 for stock coil? $55 for MSD? Pull plug wires and remove two bolts to replace the coil.

Thanks for the call back.
You may want to replace all 3 coils as they must be the same age and will soon expire like the first?
