Default Leaks!

I am a total beginner at cars, by the way, but...

My Bonne leaks on the front passenger side, and every time it rains the seat gets soaked. It'* that bad. I've been told that'* typical with these cars (mine'* a 99). How do I fix it :?

Moved to 92-99. Please don't post mechanical questions in General Chat.

On to your problem, do you have a sunroof?

For starters, a moderator will help us get the most exposure by moving this to the 92-99 mechanical problems area.

Water leaks can be common.

Do you have a sunroof? If so, it'* possible a drain is clogged.
If not, most likely the issue is the shrinkage on the door seals. A realignment (leaving a gap at the bottom if necessary) can help fix it up.

You have 4 drains. If any of them get plugged, the water will leak down your A-pillars. I suspect your problem is the front two drains. Retract the sunroof and look in the front corners of the 'gutter'. You'll see the holes.

There are several methods for unplugging them. Some use the 'roto-rooter' method of shoving and twisting a small wire or tube down inside, others use compressed air to blow them out. I use a combination of both. Test it afterwards by pour water from a pitcher or glass. You should get flow from behind both front wheelwells, and in front of the two rears when they're all open.

You bet. You might want to try the water test first, just to get an idea of where the drains run.

also if when you fix the sunroof, dont forget to look at the door seals and see if they have shrunk at all....the shrinking door seals are also a common thing that we have seen that lets water in to the cabin of the vehicle
