Default HUD Brightness Problem

After going WOT today, my HUD lost most of it'* brightness. I'm not sure if it'* cause/effect or just coincidence.

I've played with the switches and will go all the way dim to about half bright.

Are your headlights on? The HUD goes about half bright when the headlights are on.

If I really play with the headlights and the twilight sentential (On/Off on the lights, Max/Min on the sentential -- back and forth, back and forth) my HUD displays correctly. It corresponds with the rest of the dash. So, either the car thinks the lights are on or they're coming on when they shouldn't.

When I first start the car it'* fine. When I shift into gear I get the problems.

When you shift into gear, my daytime running lights come on and the headlights when I have them set on auto.
