I thought the black oil filler cap was on 92? I bought another 3800sc thinking it was a 93 but it had black oil filler cap and did not have roller rockers.but gave plenty ot put on ebay.. got full harness pcm and 2 sc'* and throttlebodies


Easy way to tell between 94/95 and earlier the ribs on the sc on the earlier go all the way down the side of the sc on the 94/95 70mm the sides of the sc is flat.

I took a short sampling of engines with grey and black oil caps. Maybe it was a fluke.

Here'* a 92/93 SC, from the back side. Notice ribs go all the way to the base, and the last bolt point on the left is rather thick.



Here'* a 94/95 SC, same angle. Ribs stop and the bolt point on the left is about half as thick.
