Mortehls was funny. I had the gauge on it and you could see it losing the battle. Of course his fuel filter was completely plugged and w/o changing that first who could say that the pump might not have kept up for a while longer.
Meanwhile Lil Sis'* is making a bit of noise and has for the past year. Til it let'* go why change it? Unless the noise is driving you nuts. (I can't hear her FP from my house..lol)

As these fuel pumps go bad is the pump shedding any metal particles?
After changed my fuel filter I taped the filter, supply end down, on a clean paper towel and a few drops of sparkling gas came out. After the gas evaporated small spots of metal flakes were left on the paper. Now I wish I had cut the filter open to see how much was inside the pleated element.

I suppose over the life of a pump for it to shed a certain amount. Especially if the filter is older and has been there to collect a bunch. Not postive though.
