Should I get new tank straps before dropping a 12 year old tank? Any other random parts I might need so I'm not suprised and left stranded?

I've got a pump, strainer, and whatever little hardware that comes with a new pump.

Anyone got a part number for tank straps, or will Autozone have them?

Make sure you either reuse the existing hardware or buy new when you change those straps. If you bust a bolt you need to make sure you replace it with one of the same grade or better. I did a tank on my nieces topaz last year and she had better than grade 8 bolts in it. Most people would have just gotten the right size at the hardware store, you need to get the right grade as well.
