Get this: a buddy of mine whos a car nut went 85 down a hill in Ohio with his cousin in a P.O.*. Geo, when they suddenly heard a SNAP!
No more governor

Oh and DON'T even dare think about trying this on a Bonneville, won't work and I don't need to see another wrecked Bonnie in this world.

Some chips will remove the governor. However, why would you want to go over 110mph anyway? The transmission isn't designed to handle it, that'* why there'* a governor there.

Default Didn,t know there was a govener

After owning my car for five year'* I've never had an opportunity to hit the governor on my carI I've drag raced it, Run mountain roads faster than I should've, and even taken it airbourne once{By accident}, but I've never had the urge to just see how fast it will go. What do you want? Are you going to hit a 130 mph at the track? Or you Going to go out on a public roadway give her all She'* Got To give? If you want to know what the top speed is do the math ,with a long enough -perfectly flat straight away'-with no wind resistance{which isn"t the case} is about 139 mph. This is with2.73 gears. Don't do it and say you did. Yes I was young once and lived to tell about it. I had a formula 400 Firebird, Balnced, Blueprintd. Muncie M22 trans. , and many mods. Iput it out there just to see what it would do. At about 140 mph. the trans. locked up. I actually melted the gears. Now I know why I lived through it. To tell people like you {and me} don't do it!!!!!! Run your car, have fun, but please don't kill yourself, or worse someone else!!!

In some way I agree , past 90 mph and your crazy , at that speed your already passing EVERYONE and that'* fast . But it'* nice to know you can do it. Now take off speed is a different story ! Try modifing your car on a 0-60 basis not a 0-??? Besides I'm not sure where you guys live But if I'm not on the PA and NJ turnpikes , it'* hard to go 90MPH for more than 45 seconds . I just can't imagine going 130 flying by wal-mart!

Default Call Me CRAZY

Call me CRAZY but I've gotten mine to 122mph on 309 north on way to work one Saturday morning. This was b4 the K&N filter and the 180 tstat. There was no traffic. It was the stretch of road right pass the Flourtown exit. No mods then. I also got it to 115 on the Atlantic City expressway 1 night. I was tryin to keep up with a Camry (no prob) and a 2002 Maxima(big prob). He was still accelerating at abt 120. I backed off because my rear tires were dogged at the time. I didnt need a blowout at 115mph. Those Maximas are no joke and I also got blown out by an Infinity i 30 on two occasions. Most recently was this past Saturday night doin abt 100 on the Schukill xpressway.

My dad'* truck dosn't kick in till 170kms or about 110miles
