Getting rid of the the governor/rev limiter is practically impossible since it'* part of the ECM! You can get the ECM re-programed though. Another to change would be the Final Drive Ratio of the Transmission. Some Trans models did offer different ratios to match different pkgs offered by GM.

I was wondering what chips are available for our cars. I own a '98 SLE. Also how do we find out if there are options for our transmissions. The dealerships around here dont bother with you if its not a T/A or GTP. Because I really want to take off the governor on my car, Its a drag at times, especially when racing.

what is the limint that gm put on the Bonnies` for top end i`ve heard from 105-108 mph. I know that mine has been reprogrammed. talk to the wizard who had before i bought it wow he did a pile of reprogramming , i`ll see him to morrow and i`ll get it on paper on wht he did so we all can do it

Here we go again....are we talking about rev limiter, or top speed limiter? taking the rev limiter off would be pure stupidity.....if you could, and you can't. If you're talking about top speed limiter, it'* set for the speed rating of the factory tires. Turtle_sse has a Jet stage II chip, and has been over 108, the factory limit on the NA cars, so we know Jet changes the top limit that way. I have a Jet stage 2 coming before the weekend for my 93SSEi. I've already been 125......128 is the limit. I may try to test this soon, but getting better tires would be something anyone should consider first. We've had too many crashes already....

My question from the begining was always for the speed. I will get tires but where can I get my speed changed.
