Getting rid of the the governor/rev limiter is practically impossible since it'* part of the ECM! You can get the ECM re-programed though. Another to change would be the Final Drive Ratio of the Transmission. Some Trans models did offer different ratios to match different pkgs offered by GM.
I was wondering what chips are available for our cars. I own a '98 SLE. Also how do we find out if there are options for our transmissions. The dealerships around here dont bother with you if its not a T/A or GTP. Because I really want to take off the governor on my car, Its a drag at times, especially when racing.

If you're talking about top speed limiter, it'* set for the speed rating of the factory tires. Turtle_sse has a Jet stage II chip, and has been over 108, the factory limit on the NA cars, so we know Jet changes the top limit that way. I have a Jet stage 2 coming before the weekend for my 93SSEi. I've already been 125......128 is the limit. I may try to test this soon, but getting better tires would be something anyone should consider first. We've had too many crashes already....
