How can I tell if i need new strut mounts?
A little while ago a shop told me that i need to replace my front suspension and i agree with that. But then they said that my front stut mounts need to be replaced with out even looking under the car or hood. So now i am second guessing the replacement of my strut mounts, how can i tell if they need to be replaced? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanx

Have someone in the car moving the steering wheel from one side to the next slowly while you put your ear near the strut tower. If you hear any creaking or generally rough movement then they need to be changed. They are basically bearings inside them attached to a plat with 3 bolts that extend through the strut tower.
I believe those are the same parts that would cause your car to pull to one side if you recently turned a corner. Mine does. Every time I turn right, my car pulls that way. When I turn left, the problem is corrected.

I think I would be checking out my front end in that case. It sounds like the castor (part of an alignment) is way off or something. That is just not natural.....

Come to think of it they are probably right. The labour is high because it is almost like doing a complete strut job which of course includes an alignment.
