It'* a mechanical item made by people. It could be. Open the trunk the next time you hear it. See if it'* louder in there, just forward of the spare tire.

Is a noisy fuel pump really a cause for concern? I hear fuel pumps on other cars all the time.

It doesn't sound like a fuel pump(almost every vehicle I've driven has had a fuel pump issue, weird) I've ever heard.
Maybe the noise isn't a concern. It sounded pretty bad, especially when it went from quiet to noisy to quiet.

I'll see how today goes.

When you hear it, put your hand on the compressor. That should tell you if it'* teh compressor. You might have a leaking strut.

What does the compressor look like? The noise started again today. My vehicle does have the tire inflator control in the trunk, but never came with a hose for it. When I hit the ON button, it changes the noise.

So I'm guessing it is compressor? Is there a fuse I can just pull? Do I need the compressor? In between jobs and a 50 mile round trip drive to school, so I'm kind of limited as to what I can do at the moment.
